Oi Mateys,
Seems as if Kit and I have been pretty shit with the whole continuing with shows over the summer thing... and I'm pretty sure I haven't updated the Previous Shows page in at least a month.
Everything WILL be updated by the start of term in September though, and we also have an announcement to make:
Kit and I will be going our separate ways as far as our shows are concerned...
Because I'd like to branch out into presenting other genres besides (but still including!) Metal, I'll be developing Mel O.D.'s Weekly Dose- a pipe dream of the simplest of vortexes containing things I'm listening to at the moment, classic favorites and the weirdest shit I can possibly come up with.
If Kit does not choose to take on a new premise, he will be continuing on with Who's Shuggah?!, which means there would be no reason for our beloved die-hard fans out there to get upset :)
Hope you've all enjoyed our short-lived one year rein, but with us both having specially tailored slots, you can expect to hear an even wider range of that beloved thing we call MUSIC.
x
Melissa
So uh... How you doin?

Metal Meltdown
Hi Guys & Gals,
Sorry to have not prepared anything for our out-of-town listeners last week; RHUL Rock Soc was having Metal Meltdown- popping Tommys Bar's Metal cherry. Rise of my Empire, Driven and Brutai all gave great performances and we were really psyched to have them. If you haven't heard their tunes, definitely give them a listen. We also featured a song from each on our May 23rd show.
Tonight we'll be playing an interesting mix (as always) including Mr. Bungle, Ufomammut, Gama Bomb, Gutbucket and Decapitated.
\m/Be sure to tune in\m/

New Term, New Show Time!
Hey all!
I'm happy to announce that we've gotten our old (and much better) time slot back on the station:
starting on May 2nd, tune in every Monday night from 10pm-12am GMT (5-7pm EST) to get your fix of all that is Metal and whatever other choons Kit & I may be playing for shits & giggles :D
In other news, METAL MELTDOWN still does not have a confirmed date. It was almost the 10th (of May) but we're having some trouble with the bands coming in that day so if we can, we'll try and nab the 18th.
Finally, within the next couple weeks expect to see/hear an interview with GAZA! Something you're not going to want to miss!

Hi Everyone,
We hope you enjoyed the show last night- fueled by pizza, we were a bit more awake than normal ;)

Last night
Apologies for not airing live last night... Kit and I have had a lot on our plates recently so we hope you don't mind us skipping out this week.
A big thanks to Charlie Peg for lining up our shortened show for us and dealing with our technical difficulties ^_^
I promise not to let my position as President of RockSoc get in the way of this show!
Sincerely,
Melissa

Alrighty-roo
Hey folks,
First of I'd like to announce my election as President of RHUL RockSoc, which took place last night. This should make sorting out our Spring event a lot easier. I'm also working hard on getting my hands on some prizes and hopefully I'll have something solid I can let you guys in on soon.
In other news, I've had it with our logging system... we're missing all the shows between January 20th to February 24th... I'll do my best to track them down but there's only so much I can do.
I've just posted the downloads for Feb. 24th, and March 4th will be with you soon. Refer to the usual Previous Shows post to get your fix of Who's Shuggah?!

ANNOUNCEMENT
Who's Shuggah? w/ Melissa & Kit will be broadcasted from 4-6pm GMT today, so get yourself in the mood for Metal in the afternoon. And while we have the chance, we're going to fit some of our lower tempo faves in as well ;)

Whoops
So as you may or may not have noticed, Kit and I did not speak on air two nights ago. We were in the studio but due to some complications with the system the best we could do for our show was line up the songs we had planned and just get outta there... pretty cool hearing your own radio show from home.
Hopefully all the bugs will be fixed and we'll be back on top next week.
Make sure to tune in!
~Melissa
PS- if you'd like to download any previous shows, see our Previous Shows post & it's not quite up to date just be patient and you'll see them up soon :)

Gigs Galore
There are tons of gigs coming up in February, and I can't be asked to compile them- so just make sure you check around your various metal community websites to check and make sure you don't miss anything awesome. Just a few bands playing in London in February are Black Label Society (HMV Forum), Kylesa (Underworld), Black Tusk (Underworld), Evile (Underworld), Sodom (Underworld), Rob Zombie (O2 Academy Brixton) & Periphery (Underworld)!
March kicks off with an awesome thrash attack at the O2 Academy Islington- Overkill, Destruction & Heathen! Other March shows include Dying Fetus at Bonecrusher Fest and the Devin Townsend Project- both also playing the Academy. (On a side note, to those of you who love dragging corpses, Seven Year Kismet is playing The Underworld on March 22nd.)

Update
Hey Guys,
I'm aware we haven't been very active for you lately, but there's a lot going on at the moment- not only in our personal lives- but concerning the show too. I'm still in the process of scheduling a meeting with the higher-ups to plan a Who's Shuggah event & we've been busy adjusting to the new software system.
If you have any ideas on what you think would better the show, please contact us at WhosShuggah@hotmail.co.uk
And to reach us while we're live on the air, e-mail the studio at studio@insanityradio.com or just send us a message from the main page of Insanity Radio's website!

Focus on Oceano
Tomorrow night, the first show of the year, we'll be broadcasting a special on Oceano. Nothing too fancy, just a bit of a focus in dedication to their new album Contagion released late last year. Their current stance in the deathcore scene is pretty impressive. They have definitely progressed a lot since 2009's Depths and I look forward to hearing more from them in the future. Unfortunately they have no current plans to tour in the UK, but if I hear anything I'll be sure to let you all know ;)
And remember, our new air time is THURSDAY NIGHTS 12:30-2AM!
~Melissa
PS- Kit won't be around as he's trawling the mountains of Spain at the moment but he'll be back for our next show. Don't be sad, Milad will be filling in for him!
PPS- The studio cam is back! So you can watch us on the main page of www.insanityradio.com while you listen!

1st Show of the New Year (re-post)
So.... we finally got some dates and the moment you've all been waiting for has come! The announcement of when Who's Shuggah will be back on the air!!!
Okay, so maybe you weren't sitting on the edge of your seat-
Nevertheless!
We're back on JANUARY 13th!
New time: THURSDAY Nights 12:30-2am!I'm quite disappointed we won't be making it on this Monday, especially since I haven't even been on air since NOVEMBER. It's a crime, I say, but such is life. At least I got to see the wonders that are Neurosis (check out the post on the gig if you haven't yet).
Not yet had the New Year Insnaity presenter meeting yet, but I think we might have some kind of Ofcom trial period before we technically get on FM. With that I shall keep you updated :)
But for now, just be sure to have a solid internet connection!
Keep on keepin' on,
~Melissa

Try playing some METAL in the background ;-)
Seriously, any kind of Metal. If you can't think of anything, put your music on shuffle and have a go. And Enjoy.

Happy Freakin' New Year, Rockers!
So another year has passed, metalheads, and we've been presented with some pretty impressive stuff. Snakes for the Divine by High on Fire, Option Paralysis by The Dillinger Escape Plan, Spiral Shaddow by Kylesa & Babez for Breakfast by Lordi. (You know I'm kidding 'bout that last one, right?) Of course that's only naming a few- a plethora of other bands released great albums this past year, like Intronaut's Valley of Smoke & Ufomammut's Eve, but there's really no way I could name all of them in one post... or could I? No, no...
Anyway, we'd just like to shoot a thank you to all our listeners- those of you who've put up with us since the beginning and those who just found out about us. 2011 will hold a lot in store for Who's Shuggah, so we want as many people as possible to be a part of it.
Still waiting for station managers to get back to us with when exactly we'll be back on the air... but expect us within the next couple weeks. Don't fret though! If it takes too long we'll try and release some kind of homemade special for you. Currently considering a couple hour set to cover some of the bands who will be playing Hellfest this summer in France- like the Melvins, Kylesa, Electric Wizard, OZZY, Opeth, Black Label Society, Eyehategod, Exhumed, Triptykon & Karma to Burn!
Also, depending on feedback, we might also try and put together a group trip to Hellfest, for all you metal lovers out there who don't have anyone to go with- so you can share the mania! And don't forget to listen in every week as well as regularly check the site because we might have a ticket up for grabs at some point- and you won't want to miss out on that!!
Here's to a good year ahead,
Keep on keepin' on!!
~Melissa & Kit
